It's a very inspiring book full of wisdom。 You do not necessarily need to be religious to believe in the power of positive thinking。 The provided stories motivate me to duplicate some experiences of this book's heroes。 Recommend it for sure! Not what I was expecting。 This book is fine as a religion/spirituality one, but shouldn’t be classified under Psychology or Philosophy by any means! A lot of preaching, and No Science!!

This book made me so upset, I tried to read it with an open mind but I couldn’t stand the fact that the title doesn’t tell anything about the book。 Everytime the author gives a solution it’s either about reading bible affirmations or going to the church。Dnf。

Being an Atheist it was tough task to complete this book。 There was time when I felt like leaving it half way but I follow a simple principle that is 'to complete what you have started', so I had to finish it。 I would give 3。5 to this book, reason being the reference of God in each and every sentence。 I would totally recommend it to anybody who believes in God and has a pessimistic approach towards life because the writer did talk about positive thinking and optimistic lifestyle which is very he Being an Atheist it was tough task to complete this book。 There was time when I felt like leaving it half way but I follow a simple principle that is 'to complete what you have started', so I had to finish it。 I would give 3。5 to this book, reason being the reference of God in each and every sentence。 I would totally recommend it to anybody who believes in God and has a pessimistic approach towards life because the writer did talk about positive thinking and optimistic lifestyle which is very helpful however, I feel you don't need to worship God or to believe in god to have a positive attitude about life, you can do that by simply believing in yourself。 It's all in your mind。 。。。more

What a misleading title。 Know before you get started- this is a Christian/religious self help book。 Had I realized this before starting it, I wouldn't have even bothered。 I still read the first half of this book giving it chance after chance, but ultimately just started reading the first page or two of a chapter and then skipping to the next。 Until I ultimately threw the book across the room, glad to be done with it。 Skip this and just read your Bible What a misleading title。 Know before you get started- this is a Christian/religious self help book。 Had I realized this before starting it, I wouldn't have even bothered。 I still read the first half of this book giving it chance after chance, but ultimately just started reading the first page or two of a chapter and then skipping to the next。 Until I ultimately threw the book across the room, glad to be done with it。 Skip this and just read your Bible 。。。more

What are the main ideas? Power of positive thinking。 There are so many studies that validate this behavior now。 Dr。 Peale knew it and wrote it down 80 years ago。 AMAZING。If I implemented one idea from this book right now, which one would it be? I can be self deprecating。 STOP and exude my confidence and let the world know that I am on a run for happiness…and bringing that energy out。How would I describe the book to a friend? Must read…mental model for a successful life。 My opinion: Love it。 Must What are the main ideas? I resonate with the author's thought process but could not relate to numerous Bible references。 This book at times seems one sided towards Christianity and not god in general。 Being an Hindu, I could not relate to the depth of it。 We need more such books from Hindu perspective。 I resonate with the author's thought process but could not relate to numerous Bible references。 This book at times seems one sided towards Christianity and not god in general。 Being an Hindu, I could not relate to the depth of it。 We need more such books from Hindu perspective。 。。。more

I read The Power of Positive Thinking after having had it spoon fed to me in various forms through corporate workshops and so forth。 The book was useful but not really necessary; although, a couple of my supervisors must have thought it would do me some good。

A lot of great concepts underlying the book, but it is often hard to read as it is clouded with preaching for Christianity。 If you can see past that though, the messages everyone should live by!

A good book based around the concept of visualizing positive outcomes and making them your reality。 Each chapter, or at least most of the chapters and with a numbered list of suggestions that summarize the chapter。 I can see myself going back and reviewing the chapter titles and those lists at the end。 A worthwhile read。

I did like the book the only thing I’m not convinced at all is that maybe it can be kind of romantic in some cases。

I left in the middle, not for me。 I did give this book a chance for nearly around 100 pages but I find it difficult to ignore the emphasis paid to a particular religion ( don't get me wrong, I am not against any religion, it's just that the book doesn't do any justice to the title given。 ) I picked up this book for its “can’t be ignored “ title, perhaps next time I’ll be more careful。 Trying to be creative enough, I imagined the relevant and well-suited name for this book and that has to be “ Th I left in the middle, not for me。 I did give this book a chance for nearly around 100 pages but I find it difficult to ignore the emphasis paid to a particular religion ( don't get me wrong, I am not against any religion, it's just that the book doesn't do any justice to the title given。 ) I picked up this book for its “can’t be ignored “ title, perhaps next time I’ll be more careful。 Trying to be creative enough, I imagined the relevant and well-suited name for this book and that has to be “ The Power Of Reading Bible “。 Although, little that I tried to see positive learnings from this one are as follows:Excerpt 1: “ Thoughts create words, for words are the vehicles of ideas。 But words also affect thoughts and help to condition if not create attitudes。 “ I have read something similar to this in many self-help and motivational books, by that I mean, what it implied, if not the exact words。 But there is no denying into saying that these are some impactful words。Excerpt 2: “ In fact, when you return to it(mesmerizing beautiful place you have been to) in memory, the mind tends to remove any unpleasant factors present in the actual situation。 The memory visit is often an improvement over the actual for the mind tends to reproduce only the beauty in the remembered scene? “Now that is something that really raised my brows。 Because, if you truly give it a thought, it actually is true。 It was said in the context of staying silent every day for about 15-20 mins or more。 And for that, you don't need to be close to nature or in the beauty or peace of it。 You can simply just visit that place in your memory。 And Finally one of my favorite excerpt i。e。Excerpt 3: Nobody can be you as efficiently as YOU can。And this one needs no elaboration, as it clarifies itself perfectly。 So, for these teachings, I kept on with it。 But being way too much religious-specific is the sole reason that gave this novel away。 。。。more
